Updates

Final Funds in Place - Work Begins

On 17th May 2018, WCC Cabinet Members agreed unanimously to the request for District CIL funding.  This enables the completion of all 4 lots at the New Road Playing Field:

* New Concrete Skatepark

* 4-lane 100 metre Sprint Track and 500m Jogging / Cycle Track

* Extended Car Park

* Toilet Block

Consultation responses have been considerable with over 200 positive responses supporting the skatepark and over 300 positive responses supporting both the tracks.  Thank you all for your support.

The contract has been signed for Lots 1 and 2, skatepark and tracks, which includes, by request, the addition of a water fountain.  Installation,  starting Monday 21st May 2018, is due to be completed Saturday 4th August 2018.

Our contractors, Canvas Spaces Ltd. will fence off areas of the New Road Playing Field where working.  Residents are welcome to use other areas of the ground, e.g. MUGA, BMX track etc. but to enable us to keep these areas open, your consideration and cooperation in respect to the closed areas is appreciated.  The car park will be closed for the duration of the installation.  Contact the Parish Council if you have any specific questions regarding open and closed areas.

An offer of "Couch to 5k" training has been received, proceeds to FoSPS, running August to October.  Contact the Parish Council for further information.

Toilet Block - Requests have been received for baby changing facilities in separate male and female cubicles, together with a "Changing Places" accessible toilet.  District CIL monies will allow these requests to be put in place.
